Enjoying Holiday Music

Every year, I look forward to the Christmas holiday season. I love decorating a large, beautiful tree, baking delicious, seasonal desserts, going to holiday parties, and spending time with my parents at their farm. Because I’m a singer and a musician, I also like to listen to Christmas music. Sometimes, I listen to holiday tunes for several hours at the time. Whether I’m cleaning my home, driving down the road, or cooking dinner, my mood instantly improves after listening to some of my favorite holiday songs. On this blog, I hope you will gain an appreciation for holiday music. Enjoy!

Tips For Hiring A Singer When On A Budget

Having live music at all sorts of events can make things more lively for your guests. You can browse the internet to evaluate the singers available for hire for events in your area. You'll find people who cover virtually every genre of music, which will make it easy to find someone who will be the perfect fit for your gathering. If you have a relatively tight budget for the event, you don't need to give up on your goal of having a live singer for events. Instead, you'll want to keep these tips in mind as you look for your singer.

One Performer

When you check out different singers online, you should take note of how many people will be performing. Some people favor small groups. For example, an acapella trio or a barbershop quartet are two popular types of singing groups. In general, you'll want to stick with one performer when you're on a tight budget. Groups can cost a little more to hire because there are more people who are getting paid, and choosing a solo singer will often be considerably more affordable.

Young Artist

While there are all sorts of factors that play a role in how much each singer charges to perform at events, their experience will often have an impact. Someone who has been singing professionally for years will often ask for more money than someone who is relatively new to this business. There are certainly benefits to having a seasoned performer at your event, but if you're determined to keep your costs down, a new and/or young artist can be a better financial decision for you. Remember, you can watch lots of videos of each performer to ensure that they have the skill level that you want at your event.

Short Performance

You should also be mindful of how long you want the performer at your event. While it can be appealing to have someone who can sing a song or two at regular intervals over a period of several hours, this can be more expensive than having someone who delivers a short performance and then leaves. Don't be afraid to structure your event so that there's a good time for everyone to enjoy a handful of songs and then focus on other things. Having the singer present for perhaps just a couple of hours will save you money compared to having them with you for much of the day.
