Enjoying Holiday Music

Every year, I look forward to the Christmas holiday season. I love decorating a large, beautiful tree, baking delicious, seasonal desserts, going to holiday parties, and spending time with my parents at their farm. Because I’m a singer and a musician, I also like to listen to Christmas music. Sometimes, I listen to holiday tunes for several hours at the time. Whether I’m cleaning my home, driving down the road, or cooking dinner, my mood instantly improves after listening to some of my favorite holiday songs. On this blog, I hope you will gain an appreciation for holiday music. Enjoy!

3 Tips For Buying Your First Electric Guitar

Blog

If you have been playing around with a friend's electric guitar and decide that you want to take up the instrument, the best way to develop your talent and skills is by playing the instrument yourself.

Tip #1: Pricing Matters

In the guitar world, what you pay for is really going to impact what you get. Yes, there are entry-level guitars that you can purchase for under $100. However, those types of guitars will not produce the same sound as the high-end guitars that your favorite musician plays. If you want a high-end sound, you will need to shell out the money for a high-end guitar. That said, there are a lot of mid-grade priced guitars that sound really great. If you want to enjoy the quality sound, save up and get a good quality guitar to start with.

Tip #2: Pay Attention to the Sound

When you shop for a guitar, most shops will allow you to plug in the guitar and play it to see if you like it. Pay attention to how the guitar sounds. Not all electric guitars will have the same sound, nor will they all have the sound you are looking for. That is why you want to test them out and figure out what sound you want and are looking for.

Tip #3: Get Good Equipment

With an electric guitar, it is about more than just the instrument. You also have to get the right accessories to go with it. You will need to purchase an amp, which will allow you to hear the sound from your instrument. The amp can really change the way that your guitar sounds. You will want to get an amp that is designed to work with the type of music you want to produce. An expensive guitar is not going to sound good hooked up to a low-quality amplifier. You are going to want to match the quality of your amp to your instrument.

You may also want to purchase some pedals for your instrument as well. This will allow you further control over how your instrument sounds.

When purchasing an electric guitar for the first time, save up so that you can afford more than a beginner instrument so that you can purchase something with some excellent sound. Test out various guitars to find one that has a sound that fits your styles and musical talents. Remember, an electric guitar needs to be surrounded by solid equipment for you to produce great music. Invest in a high-quality amp and pedals.
